Over the last four weeks, the ARUA CoE NCDs team has been holding consultative meetings with various stakeholders and the University of Nairobi administration to finalise plans for the official launch of the Centre at the University of Nairobi, Main campus on 6th December 2022. This has been a long overdue event, that had been delayed by unavoidable circumstances. The event is expected to be a hybrid meeting, with guests attending from all over the world.
The consultative meetings were held in several locations, including online meetings. From the University, there were representatives from the Vice Chancellors office, representatives from the office of the Associate Vice Chancellor Research Innovation and Enterprise, Registrars from various departments and managers of different areas within the university administration, including corporate affairs, security, facilities and transport.
The launch will be attended by several high-profile guests, including the University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor, Professor Stephen Kiama who will launch the centre; Professor Ernest Aryeetey, Secretary General ARUA (attending online); Dr Patrick Amoth, EBS, the chief guest; Hon. Anne Waiguru, EGH, representing the council of governors; and representatives from the various partner universities. Invitations to attend the launch have also bee sent to the various departments and faculties within the University.
This hybrid event is expected to strengthen the work done by the centre, and provide an opportunity to showcase some activities that students are engaged in relating to NCDs. For attendance, whether online or in person, kindly sign up using this link.
We look forward to hosting you at the University of Nairobi.
